πŸ“ Winona, Minnesota

Winona, Minnesota, was once known as Wabasha's Prairie and the village of Keoxah (a Dakota word meaning "The Homestead") and what used to be the home of Chief Ernest Wabasha's ancestors, Chief Wabasha II and his band of Mdewakantonwans, is now known as Winona, Minnesota. The word Winona comes from the Dakota word Wenonah and means first born daughter. Recently, hereditary Chief Ernest Wabasha returned to the home of his ancestors and got an Eagle's eye view of the city of Winona on the bluffs at Garvin Heights Park.
