📖 Marines Blanket Ceremony

On Wednesday, November 10th, 2010, the 235th Anniversary of the United States Marine Corps, Former U.S. Marine and Vietnam Veteran, Edward Lohnes and U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran Lyle Rustad of Diversity Foundation, Inc. honored the Twin Cities Marine Corps Unit with a traditional Native American blanket ceremony at their Minneapolis-St. Paul Headquarters.

A Special Pendelton Blanket and a U.S. Marine Star Quilt were presented to Major Scott and First Sergeant Woods during the ceremony.

It was the Diversity Foundations opportunity to show appreciation for the Marine Corps dedication and hard work with their annual Toys For Tots program. In the past, the TFT program, through the efforts of the Marine Corps in partnership with the Diversity Foundation, has helped provide toys, educational games and books to numerous Twin City youth and thousands of impoverished under-served native american children.

Diversity Foundation also works with Marne Corps units in other states including North and South Dakota.

Diversity Foundation is also in the process of setting up a program to deliver gift baskets to Native Ameican Elders as well.
