City of Wabasha Dedicates fountain and Statue Located Next to Eagle Center
On Septemeber 18th, 2010, the city of Wabasha, Minnesota dedicated a a ten foot bronze sculpture made in the likeness of Chief Wabasha II, designed and scultpted by Joanne Bird. along with a new fountain, designed and sponsored by John Bouquet. Both now grace the city of Wabasha's Mississippi River front next at the National Eagle Center.
The sculpture depicts Chief Wapasha II holding a cedar sprig and an eagle feather staff. The city of Wabasha is named after him.
